This lightweight electric skillet from Proctor does the job like a professional. The non-stick lining is superb- does not peel or flake and cooks without scorching or sticking food at the bottom. Proctor Silex 38526 Electric Skillet also requires much less oil, cooks up fast and cleans up very easily. Ideal for smaller families with two to four members, the skillet has a capacity of about 2 quarts.
Proctor Silex 38526 Electric Skillet
The glad lid lets you view food when cooking and is dishwasher safe. The skillet, too, is dishwasher friendly. Proctor Silex 38526 Electric Skillet handles double as legs which, for some users take a little trouble to set up. Some users have complained of receiving shipments without screws or tools for setting up: make sure to return immediately if this happens. Since the unit doesn’t come assembled when shipped, you have to set it up from scratch and it may be frustrating for novice users.
The plastic handles stay cool during cooking and are sturdy for holding. The temperature dial goes all the way from 200 to 400 degrees and the markings are not up close for ease of setting the desired temperature.
This is a cheap, extremely versatile equipment that works best for two-membered families cooking their everyday meals. Be it frying eggs, bacon, and fish: it does so in minutes only. Since this is a budget skillet, the materials used for construction may not be top notch but is workable and is sufficiently durable for a couple of years or more if you do not mishandle it.
Warning
This is no slow cooker: be careful when you put up something to cook or you will burn it.
